TRANSFORMATION-END OF YEAR REPORT

End of Year Report TRANSFORMATION CELEBRATION “Let us rejoice and be glad and give Him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and His bride has made herself ready.”(Revelations 19:7) Sandee and I rejoice at the end of 2012. We give God all the glory for all OF YOU the wonderful friends He has given to us. You are our family and you are our prayer coverage. The mission field may separate us now, but oh my goodness what we all have in Jesus Christ is worth shouting, “Hallelujah! For our Lord God Almighty reigns.”(Revelations 19:6(b) It has been like a transformation celebration this past year for what we know as the Body of Christ, also “… the Bride of Christ … caught up together … and so we will be with the Lord forever.”(1Thessalonians 4:17). Sandee and I cherish these moments to be able to share our joy with you our beloved friends and family. This joy we have in serving our Lord Jesus is being a part of the “new lives” that have been born anew this past year. “Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone and the new has come” (2Corinthians 5:17). And as the verse describes; “a new creation …” a new man, woman and child are a result of your faithfulness in support and prayers. It also confirms our obedience to the Word and to His calling on Sandee and my life. Men and women in prison, men in rehab, young adults, children, orphans and widows all that were, “old … and the new has come”. That is worth shouting aloud at the end of this year JOY TO THE WORLD the Lord has come! We hope that during this Christmas season when Christians reflect on the greatest gift that has ever been given, Immanuel, you and your loved ones will enjoy God’s peace and His grace each day. Thank you for standing with us this past year and we are confident that, “… God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” (2 Corinthians 9:8) As the year ended, we HAVE SEEN GREAT TRANSFORMATION taking place within those who served with and were recipients of our ministry work. It has been a busy, but a great year as so much was accomplished in HIS name. We were used and stretched mightily as were others who joined us here. This year we had 76 courageous saints from California and North Carolina come to serve alongside us and bring God’s hands, heart and His love to scores of Dominicans and Haitian people. They impacted hundreds in their work and outreach for Christ! We watched with delight as our local MOTE young adult leaders served alongside these teams. In addition, we also saw many Dominican churches become part of the MOTE’s Christ Centered programs serving in our multiple ministries. MOTE also became part of the Impact Lives food distribution at the end of the year serving small villages and the prison. Dr. Chappy’s classes he taught during the year were completed by hundreds of prison inmates, men in MOTE’s transition housing, church leaders and young adults from different churches. The confirmation of our work is seen in the faces of men receiving their certificates and equipped to return to their families and community. The evidence is seen in the men who have graduated from the MOTE half-way house knowing they have a new beginning; and seeing little poverty communities have hope for their elderly and children. It brings us and the mission groups who join us great joy seeing a clean and orderly and a safe community where they can worship. WE COUNT IT ALL JOY! This is what your prayers and donations do….one person at a time! Servants Quarters: First we would like to thank our dear friend and “MOTE MOM” Coni McCall. She has been a part of MOTE ministry since 2003. Her years of loyal service through thick and thin, celebrations and prayers are evidence of Coni’s commitment to Jesus Christ! She has been our GLUE and contact person between our US ministries and those in Dominican Republic. She even traveled to the Dominican Republic in 2007 to help create one of our first workshops! Hundreds know her and her precious smile and devotion to serving our Lord and coming alongside of us to make our transition to the Dominican Republic possible. WE LOVE YOU AND THANK YOU CONI! OUR MOTE MOM! MISSION TEAMS: Sandee and I were blessed to have 2 great mission teams come and serve here in the Dominican Republic: Rancho Bernardo Presbyterian Community Church’s high school mission team, and Triad Community Church’s mission team. They repaired homes, churches, and a day care center. Widows, the blind and the elderly were blessed with new bathrooms, beds and clean and safe living conditions. In addition, they did evangelistic outreach programs, and served in medical clinics touching hundreds. Also outreach programs were done at the La Victoria Prison where about 60 men received the Lord. NOW this is truly TRANSFORMATION!!! LA VICTORIA PRISON "MOTE’s complete cycle of Christ Centered Transformation for Man, Family and Community: A LOST man when he comes into prison. A SAVED man who hears the Gospel. A DISCIPLED man who learns from the Word. AN EQUIPPED man ready for service. A CALLED man to shepherd the flock. A SENT man who leaves the prison to SERVE in the church. This was a great year of transformation within the prison. 745 men accepted Christ through MOTE’s 13 churches inside La Victoria these past 5 years. They were saved, and taught the WORD of God. The leaders attended my Eschatology, Christology and Hermeneutics classes. The graduations held were very important to each one of MOTE’s students, as the certificates are valuable in their interviews for parole. The agriculture project is flourishing and providing necessary food for the sick and elderly in the prison. In addition, there was medicine, clean water, Clorox and trash cans provided to the prison to help end the Cholera outbreak created during Hurricane Sandy. Impact Lives food distribution was also done within the prison. And NO our MOTE office has not been restored to us…….but with a new Christian Director of Prisons and most importantly… with GOD, and your continued prayers it is possible and we will continue to stand on that promise! YOUNG ADULT LEADERS OF GUERRA: We have also rejoiced in the accomplishments of our Young Leaders group from Guerra who steadfastly finished their 1 year of classes (the same as were taught in the prison). They served along with the mission teams and worked in their community with great delight of their Pastor and their city Mayor. These WILL THE CHRISTIAN LEADERS OF TOMORROW ….. transformation at its finest! As Sandee and I see these transformations take place, we have also been transformed by the experiences of living here as missionaries. We have been stretched, we have prayed greatly, pondered often, studied, cried, rejoiced, ministered to others, and have been ministered to by others …. all in the name of our Lord Jesus who sent us here. Lives TRANSFORMED because of your willingness to partner as donors and prayer partners! Pastor Chappy Dave and Sandee: We the - Missionaries on The Edge - are so excited about the upcoming season! 2013 is going to be a harvest because of the 5 years of preparing the soil and tending the flock and now is the time to reap! God is going to do “immeasurably more that all we ask or imagine according to His power that is at work within us,” (Ephesians 3:20) MOTE Ministries along with you, our donors and prayer partners, “… can do everything through Him who gives me strength.” (Philippians 4:13 - my emphasis). 2011 Year End Message

Please take 5 minutes to read this!

It is My Gift to You During the Season of Giving

“Picture this: a loading dock with a row of naked, big, bad-looking men, a few are black, a few are brown, and all of them are covered in tattoos up and down every body part. In their midst is the hide of a clean-cut white dude who was CEO of one of the largest tax and financial planning businesses in Orange County. All of them are equally stripped, hosed down…and screwed.”

“This couldn’t be happening to me. How on earth did I get here?
I was on that bus and now I’m standing naked on this dock being hosed down
and verbally trashed. But this isn’t really happening to me…or is it?
Are the guards right? Are my business suit, my Rolex, and my life…now theirs?”
(“Wipe Out A True Story of Winning” by Pam Fox Kuhlken & David M. Walden, pp25)

28 years later, the “clean–cut white dude” whose life seemed over then and there is alive and serving the King of kings – go figure! What an amazing God and Father who saved, “a wretched man …” (Romans 7:24) like me. When I read this passage again from my book I cannot believe the journey the Lord has had me on. The vision and mission given to me when Sandee and I established MOTE, “To exalt Jesus Christ through relational evangelism by reaching people on the edge” has manifested itself in California – Mexico - Dominican Republic and now in Puerto Rico.

The story of my life, where the Lord had it planned for me to be in prison only to return with “a hope and a future …” (Jeremiah 29:11), was the Sovereignty of God to serve Him with all my heart and mind. “Preach the Word …” (2 Timothy 4:2) which is the Good News to groups of American prisoners in Mexican and Caribbean prisons and hundreds of men and women in rehabilitation centers. The God over all creation ordained me to reach these men and women by the programs MOTE has established and supports. My life story is in full process. It is a confirmation of moving with the authority of God. It is a testimony of His faithfulness to those who will “teach what is in accord with sound doctrine.” (Titus 2:1)

My friends and fellow servants of the Lord Jesus Christ, this past year, 2011, has been a year of overcoming. It is the year that we can say we understand what it is to be, “… poured out like a drink offering …” (2Timothy 4:6). Scripture has instructed us to “keep your head in all situations, endure hardships, do the work of an evangelist, and discharge all the duties of your ministry.” (2 Timothy 4:5). The four areas that Paul commands his disciple Timothy to do we too have taken good counsel from this passage from the inspired Word of God. We cannot begin to tell you how many times each day we have had to call on the Lord for help in one or all of these life saving overcoming truths.
2011 was our year of the “Endless Summer”. The hostile environments where MOTE serves is being transformed into havens of peace. The church mission teams this year have served honorably, their impact on Dominican Republic lives is eternal. MOTE’s Christ-Centered Prison Reform Programs continue to grow. In July the La Victoria prison project reached our 2000th man who is involved in the MOTE “whole man” in Christ project. It has been almost five (5) years since 2007 when we started with 200 men and now in 2011, 2000 plus! God is faithful. God promises and I believe. “You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart.” (Jeremiah 29:13)

The rural village of Guerra in 2008 had no cooperation between its churches. In fact, they were not speaking to each other. MOTE sponsored three pastor conferences in pastoral leadership, hermeneutics and reconciliation. The Holy Spirit moved and healing took place right before our eyes! In 2011 the mayor of the city awarded MOTE a plaque for bringing the faith community to together in unity. On October 9, 2011, the city entered into a mutual agreement with MOTE to provide material and cooperation on future projects that will benefit families, elderly and children. This collaboration that is Christ-Centered with joint participation amongst the Body of Christ, the government agencies and MOTE reflects the commitment that Sandee and I have for this ministry.

Guerra and the faith community now have two completely reconditioned parks where children and teenagers are now playing basketball, where pastors from the different churches are coaching, and where “the light” is now shining and darkness and drugs are not the looming evil! The old has gone and new is come. Transformational development in action!!!

Other village’s likeYamasa, La Coleta and Seibo want to join MOTE in initiating similar programs. HELP IS NEEDED - FINANCES – MORE MISSION TEAMS – PRAYER COVERAGE all for MOTE’s efforts in the prison reform programs, character education programs, children’s activities after school programs, as well as MOTE sponsored transitional housing. Men and women are successfully returning to their families and communities as contributors and servants of the Lord Jesus Christ.

The financial support from you is so important. Sandee and I are totally supported by our ministry partners and without your monthly donation we cannot carry out this ministry. We need your commitment to continue in your giving. If you are not a supporter - please consider us as the missionaries you know God has His hand upon. “… whoever sows generously will also reap generously.” (2 Corinthians 9:6)

Please consider an end of year gift to MOTE so you can continue partnering with God in HIS good work! See below for donation information.

Sandee and I/MOTE, are so excited about 2012! We are keeping our minds clear and focused on the Lord’s call and direction at all times, we know it is mandatory. We endure the hardships because, like the Apostle Paul, we see the “… fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ…” (Philippians 1:11) and the call upon my life as an evangelist to “Preach the Word, be prepared in season and out of season …” (Timothy 4:2) is my passion.

And those of you who know me as a leader “On the Edge” also know the apostolic leadership gift is at work mightily in me. The Apostolic Leadership Gift is defined: “A Special leadership capacity to create new ministry structures, and led by a vision, to meet needs, appoint and develop leaders for these new ministries.”

The integrity of the ministry and the results we see are the evidence MOTE stands on. We stand on it because the foundation is Christ crucified and risen! Our commitment to the Lord and to our supporters, prayer warriors and churches is to carry out the Great Commission.

Our past 20 years of full time pastoral service in the church, in the hospitals, in the prisons, in the public schools and in the community has taught us to persevere and walk by faith. Our mission ahead is to continue to expand by appointing and developing biblical servant leaders for the various MOTE ministries in California, Mexico, Dominican Republic and in Puerto Rico.

Sandee and I hope you will join us – support us – pray for us as we serve day by day in eager anticipation of Jesus return. Come, Lord Jesus, Come!

In Christ, Dr. Chappy Dave Walden
